Mariana Parma Received her BA in Dance & Communication from Rutgers University, NJ. She is widely known and admired for her masterful expertise in Argentine- Tango as a performer and instructor. Mariana’s approach in teaching and performing is to transmit the essence of each dance style through the musicality and movement. Her experience in the realm of Argentine Tango is vast and she has spun in stilettos, in NBC’s hit series, “The Blacklist”, feature films such as “Isn’t It Romantic”, national commercials, and within such theatrical venues as NYC Town Hall, Lincoln Center, and abroad to name a few. Beyond her own
performing experiences, as an Instructor, She has also trained legendaries in the fundamentals of Argentine Tango, including Chita Rivera and Tommy Tune. She was on staff at the prestigious Dance Manhattan Ballroom school in NYC for more than 10 years, and guest teacher at festivals in the US and abroad. Plus, As a Choreographer, she
choreographed for commercials, well-revered composers and orchestras, including a China tour of the production “Glamour Tango”, an all female Tango Company. She is also the recipient of the St. Louis Circle Award of outstanding choreographer for her work in Evita the musical, at St. Louis Rep., HOLA award for outstanding achievement for choreography for the premiere production of “Tango Fever” , and the USATango Champion. Mariana Parma’s latest endeavor , her first short film,
“El Montage”, written, produced, and Starred in, has been selected in at least 15 film festivals in the US and abroad, along with receiving Best Narrative, Best Original Music, Best Direction, and Best Choreography.
